Metamatter is an attractive destination for all types of creative professionals who are looking for instant access to innovation coming from leading material labs. At the same time, manufacturers are given the chance to reach a wider audience for their products and services. Last but not least, we encourage an open dialog about innovation and its application to everyday life.

Who is behind the project?
The project was brought to life by long-time friends and colleagues who share passion for design and technology. For more details on the team, please read the about section.

Who is allowed to contribute?
The site is open to contribution from all interested parties. Whether you are a designer who just found the next big thing or a manufacturer eager to bring its catalog online, Metamatter provides the space and tools to accomplish that.

How do I upload materials?
We have tried to make contributing to the site as easy as possible. First you will need to create a free account. Once you register you can visit the ‘my library’ link and start adding matter. That’s all!

What are the image file requirements?
We support all major image file types such as JPG, PNG and GIF. You can upload as many images as you want as long as each image file is not bigger than 2MB in size. If your images are bigger than 2MB, you can use free image software such as Picasa to resize them before uploading.

Can I provide contact information for materials that I upload?
We provide fields for contact information for each uploaded material so we can facilitate the contact between interested designers and manufacturers.

What if I have a suggestion or recommendation about the site?
Metamatter is still work in progress and we continue to improve the user experience. We feel two heads think better than one and we’re eager to hear your thoughts about the site. Don’t hesitate to email us at feedback@metamatter.net if you see ways to improve and facilitate the site experience.
