Description
Stabilized aluminum foam (“SAF”) is produced using a proprietary, versatile process in which gas is bubbled into molten-alloyed aluminum containing a dispersion of fine ceramic particles to create a foam that is then cast into lightweight panels and shapes. The result is a revolutionary material with a wide array of features including very low density, mechanical energy absorption, thermal and acoustic insulation, is recyclable, time and temperature insensitive and has a low cost of production.
The technology is focused on producing products for 3 major markets: automotive, architecture and blast mitigation.
